History/Background Information: A rare and highly coveted proof striking of the ZAR threepence. ZAR proofs were only struck in the year 1892, in Berlin for the ZAR. Designed and engraved by Otto Schultz, Eli Levine describes the ZAR proof issues as "exceptionally beautiful pieces". No known records exist of the number of these proof coins minted.

Condition Notes: A superbly crafted proof rendering of the 1892 ZAR 3 pence. Highly reflective fields blessed with rustic patina giving this coin a real "olde" world feel. Strong cameo contrasting especially on the reverse enhancing the already incredibly sharp detailing.
